Ares Demertzis
Director of Photography

Ares Demertzis was born in Greece, raised in Africa, and educated in the United States, where he is a graduate of New York University’s “School of the Arts.” He is an award winning film Director and Director of Photography whose range of work encompasses television commercials, documentaries, and theatrical motion pictures. 

As an accomplished commercial director, Ares’ credits include spots for such major corporations as Gillette, Coca-Cola, Good Year, Kraft, Nescafe and General Electric. And as a documentary cameraman he has made films for American Express, Exxon, Volvo, and the Control Data Corporation. His assignments have taken him to every continent and virtually every country in the world, where he has learned to work with a variety of peoples, customs and languages.

His theatrical motion picture credits as a Director of Photography include “Revenge Is My Destiny” starring Sydney Blackmer, and “The Turning Point” starring Richard Kiley. 

Demertzis holds among his many awards two Cine Golden Eagles, an IFPA Cindy Award, recognition for his work at numerous International Festivals, and the Photographic Society of America Award for Excellence
